Ombré hair, scented polish and Revlon lipstick

To start, I have to say that I have a bit of bipolar when it comes to my hair, I'm litterally changing its color and cut like every month. I'm honestly surprised I'm not bald! Last night I did my ombré hair. It took longer than I expected and the results were on the warmer side. I think this is because of many reasons; I have very long, very thick hair that's stubborn; in November I had dye put in my hair; my natural color is also on the darker side. However, that doesn't mean that I cannot reach my desired shade and it doesn't mean that I don't like it now. It was sort of a pain in the butt to do. I used L'Oreal Paris Super Blonde Crème Hair Lightening Kit in Super Bleach Blonde (205) it costs about $10 at most drug stores. This bleach was SO strong, if you use it, open a window! All I did was pull all my hair in front of my shoulders split in half. I applied the bleach from ends up to just below my chin, I made sure my hair was rather saturated. I waited about 20 min before I washed off the bleach. Now comes the annoying part, you need to make sure your hair is dry before you apply bleach, per instructions. After I blew dry my hair, I focused the bleach on about 3 in. of my ends, this too had to sit about 20 min. The results weren't as blonde as I hoped for, more of strawberry blonde, but I still love it! And I'm sure in about 2 or 3 weeks I will attempt again, I'll do an update blog when I do. This look seems as if it would be more difficult to achieve but really it's very simple, and I love that about it.

While I was at the market yesterday, I of course was distracted by the beauty section and picked up a couple of items. A bottle of polish and lipstick. So I know in my last post I said I wouldn't buy a bottle of polish that was over $3, well I did. It cost about $4.50 at a drug store. BUT! This polish is so cool! It's scented!! It's Revlon brand and the shade is called Raspberry Rapture (350). And no lies, it smells like raspberries!! And it kept its scent even after I applied a top coat. I'm not exactly sure how long it lasts, as I just tried it today. We shall see though! The shade is very true to color from bottle to nails, I like that.

The lipstick I picked up is by Rimmel London. It's called Lasting Finish Lipstick in Candy. It cost about $4.50. Most of my makeup is Rimmel, I love their products! I liked this shade, except I was hoping it would be more matte than shimmer.  I'm very picky with my lipsticks. I'll wear this shade again except I can't say that it's my favorite.

Wearing this shade.

And of course I was tempted by the February issue of Vogue, I couldn't resist!!

I'm still brainstorming for my Valentine's Day blog...I'm thinking outfit, makeup, and treat ideas! I was also thinking of doing a "my worst beauty blunder" blog; we've all done it and mine is quite hilarious actually! Today I recieved an email from Julep Maven saying my beauty box has been shipped! That was so fast! This is just making me that much more excited! I'll blog about what I think about it and post what's inside. I'm thinking of doing a sewing project, I'm obsessed with anything DIY! I'm really into summer dresses, and I want to create my own unique ones, except I need to teach myself to sew and buy a sewing machine! I can't wait to start though, I have so many ideas!! And while I'm typing this I'm humming to Bright Eyes songs, love it!
